The fertile mother is anxious for the children she will bear. She begs for each child to have a beautiful face. However, Anne Vane, the mistress of the Prince of Wales, and Catherine Sedley, the mistress of James II, can tell you what it is like to be beautiful and all of the pitfalls that come with it. Beauty might please a king, but it does not necessarily elicit happiness from its owner. A maiden or a beautiful, young woman who has red lips and shining eyes, will be kept busy with physical and surface tasks of pleasing others with their looks. They will not be given the opportunity to be wise and learn from books. If people buy into the necessity of beauty, you will at constant war with yourself and others trying to achieve new levels of beauty. You will become a slave to the young and beautiful ideals.
